The appropriate theme in illustrating the current development situation in Malaysia and justify the answer.

In our opinion the theme that illustrate the current development situation in Malaysia is the theme in 1980s.

Improve the capacity of public and private institution

As for the reason we choose the 1980s, first in the theme include to improve the capacity of public and private institution. In today administration, we can see that the government have done a number of privatization in order to improve the services provided for the public. For example the KTM Berhad, Telekom and TNB. Also, the service provided by the government have been upgrade and improve so much. For example, if we go back 3 years back, it takes more than 2 months to get our MyKad. But now, it can be done in just one day. While in private sector we can see tremendous improvement in the number of Malaysian product that have achieve a various accomplishment and being abble to go to international market such as our local fruits,batik,silk and songket. Since the improvement have been made in both sector, government now are focusing more on other aspect such as rural area development.

Values of responsiveness and accountability

The other theme which have been practiced in 1980s is the values of responsiveness and accountability. The same situation can be seen now as the government are emphasising on the accountability and responsiveness of the public sector. We have many one stop center set up by the government. We also have e-government where the public can get more info and directly reach the administrator. The initiative that the government take to use technology to reach the public proved that the government are trying to improve the responsiveness and accountability of the public sector.

All in all, we can say that the style of administration nowdays mostly illustrate the theme in 1980s. We are at the moderate development as the economy is getting better and the development of the nation is increasing. Public are more aware about their responsibility and their right and work together with the government to achieve a better growth.
